Preparing for CAT

It is well known fact that it is the fittest that survives. And CATs selection procedure follows this paradigm very well.It requires intelligent and innovative preparation both mentally and physically. Maintain poise and composure during the entire length of the test.
The duration of the examination is of 120 minutes and the number of questions asked in common admission test varies each year.,varying between 75 and 150 . This is an objective based examination and so the aspirant has to choose the best answer for each of the question which is marked at the OMR sheet. Every correct answer is awarded with one mark and every wrong answer faces a deduction of 1/4th of a mark.
From my view’s the candidates going for the exam must scan the paper once or twice to get a reasonable overview.Answer the easy questions in each section first. Skip what cannot be answered and move on. There is negative marking. So it is better to skip questions than answer them wrongly.
While preparing for general knowledge, you must give due importance to economics, politics, national and international issues. Try and improve your reading speed and comprehension. You should attempt as many mock-CAT tests as is possible. This should give you a feel of the exam as well as improving your confidence
Conclusion:
While taking the examination never thinks you are preparing only to clear the written test,as most the candidates do.Your aim should be join the great IIM institute and work till you achieve your aim. So participate in GD sessions and keep yourself updated with current affairs. If you haven't join any coaching institute then you can join any public forum online or offline for practicing GD and Interview sessions.
The Keys to success can be summarized as:
a) Know your strengths and weaknesses.
b) Organize your studies.
c) Keep track of your performance and mistakes.
d) Read healthy.
e) Keep preparing for GD & Interview.
